Akciovou spoločnosťou je spoločnosť, ktorej základné imanie je rozdelené medzi určitý počet akcií určitej menovitej hodnoty. Spoločnosť zodpovedá za porušenie svojich záväzkov celým svojím majetkom. Akcionár neručí za záväzky spoločnosti.

A joint stock company is a company whose registered capital (capital stock) is divided into a certain number of shares of a specific nominal value. The company is liable for the breach of its obligations with all its entire property but the shareholder is not liable for the obligations of the company.

liabilities vs. obligations

difference in the contexts in which the two words of similar meaning are used, the former (prvý výraz) mostly refers to accounting while the latter (druhý výraz) falls under contracts: finančné záväzky, dlhy, pasíva vs. záväzky, povinnosti  vyplývajúce zo zmluvy, zo zákona, členstva, atď.

assets vs. property

property generally refers to ownership of a house or land (vlastníctvo, majetkové právo k domu alebo pozemku)

asset is more generic and less specific (skôr všeobecný a menej konkrétny pojem pre majetok, aktíva

Money or stocks could be considered assets. (assets znamená i peniaze alebo akciový capital)

liable for vs. responsible for

Contractor shall be responsible for developing product according to specification, for observing due diligence in testing product according to standard PZ 001, and for delivering product on schedule.

While there is an overlap in meaning, responsibility is often associated with obligations(súvisí s povinnosťami, ktoré vyplývajú zo záväznej dohody)and liability with consequences (súvisí s následkami prípadného porušenia týchto povinností); but this does not seem to be a hard rule (nie je to však pevné pravidlo).
